You’ll feel at home as soon as you step through the door at Kirklands care home. This purpose-built residential home combines comfort and freedom without compromising on resident safety. Bedrooms are fully furnished on arrival, but all residents are encouraged to choose colours and décor to suit their own tastes and style to help them feel comfortable in their new home.

To make it as safe as possible to move around, we’ve maximised the floor space in resident bedrooms and in the lounges and seating areas where they can socialise with residents, carers and their visitors. They can also access our secure garden when the weather permits.
Keeping body and mind busy is crucial for resident wellness and we’re particularly proud of the wide range of activities and social environments that we create at Kirklands care home. Although resident choice is a strong part of our ethos, we encourage them to engage in our activities and with one another as much as possible to help enrich their day-to-day lives. We take time to get to know what interests our residents and ask them and their families which activities we can use to enhance their quality of life.
Some of our most popular activities and events include coffee afternoons, tea parties, bingo nights, music therapy and trips out to the local town. We’ve got strong links with the local community too.
Our compassionate and experienced staff are completely dedicated to the care of our residents. We work closely with residents and their families to create highly-personalised plans that ensure that both the physical and emotional needs of the resident are not only met, but exceeded. Their safety, dignity and happiness are our priority as we support them to live a healthy, active and fulfilling life with us at Kirklands care home.

Carol Davies – Manager
I began my career in care over 21 years ago after qualifying as a nursery nurse. I soon realised that I wanted to give more and make a real difference to people’s lives and that’s when I found my true calling in care.
Originally from Liverpool, I have strong connections with Cumbria, having lived here for ten years. Throughout my career, I’ve worked my way through various roles from Carer and Senior, to Team Leader, Unit Manager, and Deputy before completing my Level 5 qualification and taking on the rewarding role of Home Manager.
Care is my vocation. I’m passionate about ensuring our residents receive the very best care. Care that’s delivered with dignity, respect, and genuine warmth. I take great pride in supporting both our residents and staff and in creating a home where everyone feels valued, supported, and truly cared for.
