The Beeches Care Home

Welcome to The Beeches – our care home in Meir, a leafy suburb of Stoke-on-Trent. Our highly-qualified and experienced team are there to offer reassurance and compassion from the moment you arrive.

You’ll quickly appreciate the positive and lively atmosphere of The Beeches, where our dedicated carers lay on a range of activities designed to enrich the lives of our enigmatic residents. We encourage independence and the freedom of residents to make decisions about their day-to-day lives. Meanwhile, underpinning the warm and upbeat environment is exceptional standards of care that not only meet, but exceed the expectations of our residents and their families. The dignity and welfare of our residents remains our greatest priority in all that we do.

Welcome home

Offering the perfect blend of comfort, freedom and security, The Beeches has been designed to be the perfect home for our residents. All bedrooms are fully furnished on arrival, but we encourage all residents to select their own colours, soft furnishings and other decorations so that they can feel truly happy and comfortable in their personal space.

We’ve maximised floor space to provide space for residents to wander safely, both in their private rooms and in the variety of comfortable lounges and seating areas where they can choose to sit with other residents or carers, or with visiting family or friends. They also receive full access to our secure garden.

The Beeches provides residential care for up to 40 people (male and female) of mixed physical and cognitive ability.

Wellness

We believe that our residents should have the opportunity to choose how they spend their days, but strongly encourage them to take part in the many activities that we have on offer. Our dedicated coordinator will create a programme to optimise both physical and cognitive wellbeing, and support is available to ensure that residents can access as many activities as they would like. Some of the most popular include baking, quizzes, games and hand massages and manicures.

"The carers are always there to support my mum when she is distressed and calm her down. We have nothing but praise for the caring staff and there are always activities going on, the activities staff does a great job keeping them entertained and all the residents seem happy."

Physical exercise is very important, and we have regular exercise classes delivered by qualified instructors who can adapt movements to suit the age and ability of our residents. We also enlist the services of a local hairdresser, dentist, optician, district nurse and GP, and work with local authorities and other healthcare professionals to ensure every aspect of our residents’ wellness is met.

Our manager, Megan Tate

Megan started in the Health and Social Care sector at the age of 18 working within the local community, progressing in to care homes. She came to The Beeches Care Home in 2011 as a Health Care Assistant and worked her way to Registered Manager in 2022. Megan has worked tirelessly completing her NVQ Level 5 and became part of the Class of 2023 Thirty under 30, The Care Shows brand new initiative recognising young talent.

Megan stated "I believe working in the health and social care industry you have to be passionate and caring to each individual resident, ensuring they are cared for in the way they wish with support and assistance from outside professional bodies. This goes hand in hand to achieve person centred care. There is always room for growth and improvement and that is what we strive to achieve,  constant development for the better impact it can have on the service."
