Bedrooms are fully furnished on arrival, but all residents are encouraged to choose colours and décor to suit their own tastes and style to help them feel comfortable in their new home.

To make it as safe as possible to move around, we’ve maximised the floor space in resident bedrooms and in the lounges and seating areas where they can socialise with residents, carers and their visitors. They can also access our secure garden when the weather permits.
Keeping body and mind busy is crucial for resident wellness and we’re particularly proud of the wide range of activities and social environments that we create at Kirklands care home. Although resident choice is a strong part of our ethos, we encourage them to engage in our activities and with one another as much as possible to help enrich their day-to-day lives. We take time to get to know what interests our residents and ask them and their families which activities we can use to enhance their quality of life.
Some of our most popular activities and events include coffee afternoons, tea parties, bingo nights, music therapy and trips out to the local town. We’ve got strong links with the local community too.
Our compassionate and experienced staff are completely dedicated to the care of our residents. We work closely with residents and their families to create highly-personalised plans that ensure that both the physical and emotional needs of the resident are not only met, but exceeded. Michelle Caisley – Operations Manager
I started my career in care as a Health Care Assistant and have progressed and worked my way up through the Health and Social Care Industry, working across many services such as mental health, learning disability, children's services and dementia nursing reaching the position of Area Manager.
In 2021 I joined Kirklands Care as their Operations Manager overseeing all of their care homes. Kirklands Care is a family run business that shared my own beliefs of care and that the residents care is of upmost priority and this for me comes first. My love of spending time with the residents shines through my work, hearing their stories and having the ability to make a difference in their lives. Every resident I care for is treated how I would expect my family member to be cared for which for me is with love dignity and respect. My role allows me to work with families to take the pressure off whilst allowing them to feel their loved one is in a suitable environment, is safe and cared for.
