Welcome to St George’s – our warm and comfortable care home in the historic, coastal town of Millom, Cumbria where our highly-qualified and experienced care team are there to make you feel at home from the moment you arrive.
Where chatting, laughter and friendship is in abundance, St George’s care home really is somewhere very special. Age should be no barrier to quality of life, and our dedicated, caring team strive to make every day as fulfilling as possible for residents, whether that’s through quiet company or social activities with other residents. We also encourage residents to remain as independent as they can, and work with them and their families to create care plans that not only meet their physical and emotional needs, but that also exceed their expectations.
The staff at St George's are incredibly helpful and really take great care of him. The home is fantastic and the facilities and bedroom are great. There are a variety of activities on offer to keep him busy. The care received by my father really is second to none. They treat him with the dignity he deserves.
A warm, friendly atmosphere is one of the first things that residents and their families notice when they first visit our comfortable residential home. We very much enjoy the unique personalities of our residents, and while bedrooms are furnished on arrival, we actively encourage them to choose colours, decorations and soft furnishings that reflect their own personal tastes so that they can feel relaxed in a room that’s truly their own.
It's important that our residents can be as independent as possible. Our home has been designed to maximise floor space so that they can move around safely, and in addition to their private bedroom, there’s a variety of communal seating areas where they can spend time with carers, other residents or visiting family/friends. If the weather is kind, they can also enjoy some fresh air and the freedom to roam safely around our secure, award-winning garden.
Our resident’s wellbeing is our biggest priority, and we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to make decisions about the care that they receive. In addition to physical support, they’ll be encouraged to get involved in the wide range of social and independent activities on offer to optimise their cognitive and emotional wellbeing. Our comprehensive programme of activities also considers any special dates, birthdays or anniversaries, and residents are encouraged to submit their ideas or requests.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a team more dedicated to resident enrichment than the team at St George’s. Not only are they extremely experienced and knowledgeable, they are also committed to making a positive difference to the lives of those that they care for. They work closely with residents and their loved ones to ensure that their bespoke care plans really do reflect the individual physical and emotional care that’s needed. We know better than most how stressful it can be to entrust the care of someone you love to anyone else, but when you choose St George’s, you aren’t just getting a new home, you’re also becoming part of a new family.
All of our residents benefit from 24/7 care and support at the highest standards of professional service.
